The Elgin Blue Wave
Master Swim Team
is an enthusiastic and eclectic group of adults who swim together. Our current members range in age from their early twenties through their early eighties. We have some folks who just want to work out and improve their technique, those who compete in meets and open water events, and some who travel to compete in national and international championships. The Elgin Blue Wave welcomes triathletes. Our tri’s range from novices who decided the swimming portion of their event was in need of improvement to a repeat Hawaiian Ironman competitor.
All ages and abilities are welcome. Workouts are tailored to differing ability levels and take place at the Elgin Recreation Center. We even have an open water workout (when the ice has melted). The Elgin Blue Wave is affiliated with Team Illinois Masters, an “umbrella team” which enables members to participate locally as Blue Waves and nationally as Team Illinois.
