LONG COURSE METERS
Next summer the USMS National Long Course National Championships will be held in Indianapolis, Indiana at the IUPUI Natatorium, the site of many Olympic trials and top championship meets. Plan now to attend with the Elgin Blue Wave! The dates for this five day meet are August 6th-10th. Saturday August 8th is a relay only day and ALL the relays will be offered. All registered USMS swimmers are entitled to swim on relays. For individual events you may enter a maximum of three individual events without making national qualifying times (NQT); if you make the qualifying times you may enter up to six. Please note: NQT’s are not “cuts” – there ain’t no such thing in masters.
The meet is held in a 50M pool which means that relays are SUM OF THE AGES, not by relay age group (25+, 35+ etc.). There’ll be an under 100, 100-119, 120-159,160-199, 200-239, 240-279,etc. This means that it is to our advantage to recruit as many swimmers as possible to join in the fun.
